Why Choose a Malvern Newland Pavilion Summer House?
Choice of Timber Cladding Choose between redwood, pressure treated, cedar, heavy duty redwood or heavy duty pressure treated. The redwood cladding (both standard and heavy-duty), are pre-treated with a water based preservative inside and out before it leaves the factory. The pressure treated cladding (both standard and heavy-duty), has a long-lasting treatment forced deep inside the timber giving the timber an attractive green hue which compliments gardens well. The Western Red Cedar is a beautiful and versatile timber which produces its own natural oils and preservatives making it a durable and rot-resistant species of timber, perfect for a garden summer house.

Malvern Newland Pavilion 12ft x 8ft
This 12ft wide Malvern Newland Pavilion is a spacious and superbly constructed summerhouse which is under 2.5m in height at the ridge (which removes the need for planning permission for almost all locations)
This particular building has external western red cedar cladding and slatted roof.
We've fitted two additional opening lights at the front on this building for extra ventilation but we don't normally recommend this as the windows will snag the doors when they are fully open if the restraining hooks aren't used.
Malvern Newland Pavilion 10ft x 8ft
This is the Malvern Newland Pavilion 10ft x 8ft model with optional square leaded windows and a cedar slatted roof. The building is available either with deal cladding or with cedar as seen in this picture.
Whether clad with cedar or deal, the building has a soaking in a good quality preservative before it leaves the factory to ensure that it gives many years of trouble free use.
All of our summerhouses have toughened safety glass included as a standard feature.
Malvern Newland Pavilion 10ft wide x 8ft
This illustrates the 10ft x 8ft Malvern Newland Pavilion: constructed in deal and treated with a preservative treatment which penetrates the timber and protects against insect attack and rot, the Malvern Newland Pavilion is a long lasting and attractive addition for any garden.
The roof height is below 2.5metres which means that planning permission is normally not required.
This building has a cedar overlap roof laid over the top of the normal roofing felt which looks good and ensures that there is no possibility of water penetration from the roof.
Each Malvern NewlandPavilioncan be professionally installed by Malvern's own teams of skilled fitters on the same day as delivery is made ( if the installation option is chosen )
Newland Pavilion 8ft x 6ft in cedar
This is the smallest of the Malvern Newland Pavilion models at 8ft x 6ft but still offers plenty of room for two comfy chairs, a table, and that all-important tea pot!
This building is displayed at our Abingdon branch (May 2015) but you'll find a Malvern Newland Pavilion on show at almost all of our branches throughout the country. This one features a cedar slatted roof as an additional option.
Shed Partition
Our Malvern Newland range of Summerhouses, whether an Apex roof like the Malvern Newland Pavilion or Newland Apex, or a Pent roof like the Malvern Newland Pent, can all be fitted with an optional shed partition wall and 35in shed door. The shed partition (6ft wide in this case) is on the RH side. Please note that the amount of the building converted to shed use is up to you but is normally 4ft, 6ft or 8ft depending on the overall length of the building.
Please note that with the shed partition - you will need to add a solid, framed and braced shed door for access. This can be internal or external (as shown) or both. You can also add a shed window to allow natural light into the shed area.
In this picture of a 16ft x 8ft Malvern Newland Pavilion other options are the pressure treated slatted roof, full length glazed windows, floor bearers, and if you look closely, an additional internal partition door
The shed partition is not an extension added to your building, it is part of the original dimensions.
Malvern Newland Pavilion 10 x 8
Here is a 10ft wide x 8ft deep Malvern Newland Pavilion summerhouse, in 12mm deal cladding. This is the basic format with a square leaded upgrade to the windows and doors.
Each Malvern NewlandPavilioncan be professionally installed by Malvern's own teams of skilled fitters on the same day as delivery is made ( if the installation option is chosen )
Malvern Newland Pavilion 10ft x 8ft
This 10 x 8 Malvern Newland Pavilion is constructed in preservative treated deal and has square leaded windows.
The cedar slatted roof is laid over the normal felted roof ensuring that the building is doubly protected against water ingress.
The Malvern Newland Pavilionis under 2.5m at the ridge which removes the need for planning permission in almost all locations
Malvern Newland Pavilion 12 ft x 8ft
This 12ft x 8ft Malvern Newland Pavilion is constructed in Scandinavian redwood which is treated with a wash of high quality wood preservative prior to leaving the factory. We have used the optional floor bearers beneath the floor to raise the building above the flagstones: this protects the floor joists and ensures that the building will not suffer damp and rot in the floor. The external faces of the building need to be re-treated every couple of years to keep the building in top condition.
This building has optional Georgian style windows and doors and a slatted cedar overlap roof.
Malvern Newland Pavilion 12ft x 8ft
This Malvern Newland Pavilion is constructed with cedar cladding (cedar is known for its long life and good looks). This particular building is on display at one of our branches so customers can inspect the quality of the finished buildings and make an informed choice about what to buy. You can find out where you can see the Malvern Newland Pavilion displayed by checking the 'where can I see one' section on this page.
This particular building demonstrates a number of optional features: floor bearers, square leaded windows, and cedar overlap roof.
Deal cladding
Our standard cladding on this summerhouse is 12mm deal. This is treated with a wash of quality wood preserver both inside and out before it leaves the factory.
This building is also available with 'Pressure treated' or cedar cladding.
Pressure treated construction
Pressure treatment is literally that : all components of the building are placed in a large pressurised cylinder which forces the preservative deep into the timber. The formulation of the preservative gives our pressure treated summerhouses their green / yellow hue which complements so many gardens.
Good looks and an extended lifetime are the main benefits of choosing pressure treated construction.
Cedar cladding
Cedar is well known for its durability, good looks and quality. With its own natural oils, it lasts for many , many years without rotting although we would advise you to treat it with a good quality wood preserver every couple of years to help maintain its good looks.
Our 'cedar' summerhouses contain cedar doors, windows and external cladding and trims. They have preservative treated redwood framing, floors and verandahs ( where fitted ).
Optional Brass Pack Upgrade
Optional brass door handles, hooks, bolts and window casement stays can be added to your Summerhouse for good looks and durability.
The 3 lever lock is supplied with 2 keys.
Summerhouse window styles
There are 5 window styles available with our summerhouse range.
From L to R these are Plain, Square Lead, Diamond Lead, Georgian, and Full Length Glass.
The exact layout, numbers of windows, and positioning is discussed on the pages relating to each product but for a general overview this is a useful comparison.
Summerhouse roof finishes
Apart from being very attractive, you can choose an optional slatted roof in pressure treated timber or in cedar to extend the life of your building.
The standard green felt is also shown along with the no-cost option of red felt.
