The Goodleigh Summerhouse is a luxury building which includes a 4’ veranda as standard, ideal for relaxing on those warm summer days or providing shelter on those not so sunny days. Handcrafted Georgian windows and doors are as standard and really enhance the look of this summerhouse and 50mmx50mm framing throughout provides strength and rigidity resulting in a longer lasting summerhouse.
Choice of Timber Cladding
Cladding on the Goodleigh Summerhouse is available in a choice of 12mm deal shiplap, 18mm premier deal shiplap, 15mm deal Loglap or 15mm Tanalised E deal. The 12mm deal, 18mm premier deal shiplap and 15mm deal Loglap are pre-treated with a high quality, water-based wood preserver inside and out. The 15mm Tanalised E deal has a reputation for longevity, since the boards are placed in a pressure vessel and the preservative is forced deeper into the timber. The cladding has a green/yellow colour which is well liked but our recommendation is to re-treat it shortly after installation, and then annually afterwards - just as with the other cladding options to keep it in tip-top condition.
The Goodleigh Summerhouse is supplied as standard with a Green or Red colour mineral felt.
Fully Framed, Ledged and Braced Door with 3 Lever Lock
Strong, secure and built to last with heavy duty black ornate hinges, black hook and eye and a black door handle and lever lock.
Hand made Georgian windows, with toughened glass as standard.
Heavy Duty Timber Framework
Framework throughout this model is 50mm x 50mm
12-Month Workmanship Guarantee
All buildings are fully guaranteed to be free from defects and faulty installation for a period of 12 months.

Pressure treated, rot-proof floor bearers create an air-gap between your building and the floor, helping to prevent damp from the ground getting to the building.

For additional strength and durability, upgrade to 18mm timber floorboards (cabin only).
Complement and extend the life of your building with a Felt Shingle roof. Available in Green, Red, Slate or Black.
Upgrade your door and window furniture from antique black to stylish chrome. This includes door handles, hinges and door hook and eyes. (not available in the 15mm tanalised cladding)
Customise your building with a range of eye catching colours.
The Goodleigh summerhouse is a luxury building which includes a 4ft verandah as standard.
The Georgian window style, with toughened safety glass, is also standard: the two side windows are top hung and are provided with casement stays.
The balustrade returns along the front edge to enclose the verandah but isn't fitted on the building in this picture.
We are able to offer installation from the manufacturer's own skilled teams of fitters.
This picture helps illustrate a number of things about the Goodleigh but I've included it particularly to show :
i) The eaves detail with the successively longer boards as it extends from the cabin body
ii)The 'return' on the ballustrades ( missing from the other picture )
iii) Scalloped bargeboards
iv) Optional 'slate' coloured roof shingles
This is the standard external tongued and grooved cladding used on all of our Fort sheds, summerhouses and playhouses. The finished thickness after machining is 12mm. It is treated with a good quality preservative prior to leaving the factory but we do recommend that you re-coat within a few months and preferably in the late autumn each year. You can purchase the appropriate timber treatment from us if you wish.
If you wish, you can upgrade to 15mm thick tanalised external cladding. Tanalised, or pressure treated timber, has a reputation for longevity since the boards are placed in a pressure vessel and the preservative is forced deeper into the timber. The cladding has a green/yellow colour which is well liked but our recommendation is to re-treat it shortly after installation, and then annually afterwards just as with the other cladding options to keep it in tip-top condition.
Tanalised buildings include tanalised floors, roofs, doors, windows, and framing... in other words the whole building !
The picture shows the optional loglap cladding available with any of our Fort Original buildings. 15mm is measured at the widest point of the tongued and grooved board. The internal face is the normal smooth face you get on our standard cladding. This is a cladding that is chosen predominantly for its looks rather than any technical advantage. After care is the same as for our other cladding options described here.
Shown here on one of our summerhouses, this building has been painted with 'swiss blue' and white. If you choose a paint finish then you can have a maximum of two colours, generally used so that the highlights are one colour and the main body of the building another.
The paint is applied at the factory after the building has been preservative treated and therefore requires a couple of extra weeks on top of the normal delivery time. This means that the internal finish is the normal preservative colour rather than the external colour.
With 12 colours to choose from the possibilities are ( almost ) endless !
All of our Fort Original buildings are fitted with a sturdy tongued and grooved floor as you would expect from buildings of this quality ( rather than chipboard or fibre board ).
For additional strength you can upgrade to a heavy duty floor ( pictured on the LH ) which has 18mm thick floorboards on 45mm x 45mm joists. The standard floor has 12mm floorboards on 45mm x 30mm joists.
Please note that summerhouse verandahs are not upgraded, only the internal cabin floor.

We take pride in making sure that your building will arrive in perfect condition - that is why we use our own team of drivers and fitters. As with all of our garden buildings, we like to provide our customers with a suitable delivery time. We always give good notice of our arrival date allowing you to be sure it is the right time for you. We always appreciate any helpful information regarding access to your pre-prepared base area, plus any details you may need to share with us about reaching you - so that the delivery process can run as smoothly as possible.
Our Fort Original Summerhouses all come with optional installation. If you are thinking about having your garden summerhouse installed by our skilled team of fitters, please be aware that you will need to have a good, strong, level base, pre-prepared prior to your delivery date. We would normally recommend a base constructed from either slabs, concrete or heavy duty decking. We will always confirm these details with you at point of order and we will provide you with base plans if needed. These measures ensure that no detail is left out - ensuring that your summerhouse will be both delivered and installed without any inconvenience.
Our delivery times can vary from season to season, but typically, you should expect to receive your building around 3-4 weeks from when you order. All of our buildings are made to order, so during the busy spring to summer seasons, this may increase to 6-10 weeks dependent on the building that you have purchased. Please feel free to contact us on 0800 999 0123 to check our current delivery times.
