A traditionally styled shed offering practicality and beauty. Designed to help gardeners protect their plants and start off young seedlings during the colder months, the Norbury Potting shed has sloping windows across the front - maximising interior light, no matter what the season! Also included are a joinery opening window in one side, robust slatted staging and a fully framed, ledged and braced stable door as standard. Not only does this shed work well for potting up and over-wintering plants, but it also provides a strong and robust storage space within your garden. Supplied with toughened safety glass.
The Norbury Potting shed is constructed from high quality materials and is available in a choice of either 12mm deal shiplap, 18mm premier deal shiplap, 15mm deal Loglap or 15mm Tanalised E deal. The 12mm deal, 18mm premier deal shiplap and 15mm deal Loglap are pre-treated with a high quality, water-based wood preserver inside and out. The 15mm Tanalised E deal has a reputation for longevity, since the boards are placed in a pressure vessel and the preservative is forced deeper into the timber. The cladding has a green/yellow colour which is well liked but our recommendation is to re-treat it shortly after installation, and then annually afterwards - just as with the other cladding options to keep it in tip-top condition.
38mm x 50mm timber framing is used throughout. The pent style roof comes as standard with a choice of either red or green roof felt.
The Norbury Potting is available with an optional painted finish, installation and felt shingles for the roof letting you customise your shed to your exact requirements.

The Norbury potting shed is a traditionally styled building. A hybrid of shed and greenhouse, the Norbury provides an ideal environment for over-wintering tender plants and bringing on seedlings in early Spring.
Available in a choice of four cladding options. The Norbury has a fully glazed width with sloping windows to allow as much light in as possible. Sturdy staging under the windows gives you a sizeable working area.
The door can be positioned on either end and can be hinged on the left or the right. An opening window in one end provides ventilation in the warmer months.
This is the standard external tongued and grooved cladding used on all of our Fort sheds, summerhouses and playhouses. The finished thickness after machining is 12mm. It is treated with a good quality preservative prior to leaving the factory but we do recommend that you re-coat within a few months and preferably in the late autumn each year. You can purchase the appropriate timber treatment from us if you wish.
If you wish, you can upgrade to 15mm thick tanalised external cladding. Tanalised, or pressure treated timber, has a reputation for longevity since the boards are placed in a pressure vessel and the preservative is forced deeper into the timber. The cladding has a green/yellow colour which is well liked but our recommendation is to re-treat it shortly after installation, and then annually afterwards just as with the other cladding options to keep it in tip-top condition.
Tanalised buildings include tanalised floors, roofs, doors, windows, and framing... in other words the whole building !
The picture shows the optional loglap cladding available with any of our Fort Original buildings. 15mm is measured at the widest point of the tongued and grooved board. The internal face is the normal smooth face you get on our standard cladding. This is an a cladding that is chosen predominantly for its looks rather than any technical advantage. After care is the same as for our other cladding options described here.
Shown here on one of our summerhouses, this building has been painted with 'swiss blue' and white. If you choose a paint finish then you can have a maximum of two colours, generally used so that the highlights are one colour and the main body of the building another.
The paint is applied at the factory after the building has been preservative treated and therefore requires a couple of extra weeks on top of the normal delivery time. This means that the internal finish is the normal preservative colour rather than the external colour.
With 12 colours to choose from the possibilities are ( almost ) endless !
All of our Fort Original buildings are fitted with a sturdy tongued and grooved floor as you would expect from buildings of this quality ( rather than chipboard or fibre board ).
For additional strength you can upgrade to a heavy duty floor ( pictured on the LH ) which has 18mm thick floorboards on 45mm x 45mm joists. The standard floor has 12mm floorboards on 45mm x 30mm joists.
We take pride in making sure that your building will arrive in perfect condition - that is why we use our own team of drivers and fitters. As with all of our garden buildings, we like to provide our customers with a suitable delivery time. We always give good notice of our arrival date allowing you to be sure it is the right time for you. We always appreciate any helpful information regarding access to your pre-prepared base area, plus any details you may need to share with us about reaching you - so that the delivery process can run as smoothly as possible.
Our Fort Original Sheds all come with optional installation. If you are thinking about having your garden shed installed by our skilled team of fitters, please be aware that you will need to have a good, strong, level base, pre-prepared prior to your delivery date. We would normally recommend a base constructed from either slabs, concrete or heavy duty decking. We will always confirm these details with you at point of order and we will provide you with base plans if needed. These measures ensure that no detail is left out - ensuring that your garden shed will be both delivered and installed without any inconvenience.
Our delivery times can vary from season to season, but typically, you should expect to receive your building around 3-4 weeks from when you order. All of our buildings are made to order, so during the busy spring to summer seasons, this may increase to 6-10 weeks dependent on the building that you have purchased. Please feel free to contact us on 0800 999 0123 to check our current delivery times.
