Influenced by the Malvern Victorian Greenhouse, the Cedar Collection Victorian greenhouse is a superb first choice for discerning garden lovers, combining the beauty and longevity of Western Red Cedar with the style of a bygone age. The Cedar Collection Victorian greenhouse is constructed with premium grade kiln dried Western Red Cedar, the first choice for greenhouse specialists for decades. Cedar has its own natural oils and does not suffer decay in the same way as most other timber. It isn't unusual for us to hear from customers who have had the same cedar greenhouse for over thirty years. But cedar isn't the easiest timber to work with and it takes experience and skill to turn it into the finished Cedar Collection Victorian greenhouse.
The key to long life and structural strength is the pressure treated cedar base. We've taken a substantial cedar base which would already last for many many years and injected preservative into it under pressure to guarantee the base won't let you down. Furthermore, because the base is a single piece of sturdy pressure treated cedar, along each side it gives an anchor point for the greenhouse sides and creates considerably more structural strength than bases which are constructed from concrete blocks or bricks.
The greenhouse is well ventilated and comes as standard with automatic roof vents and side windows with casement stays. The hinged, inward opening door is a generous width to ensure ease of access (0.76m). Staging and shelving are available with cantilevered brackets, to ensure that the floor space is maximised and no ugly staging legs restrict sweeping or storage.
At GBC, we are continuously striving to improve our products, methods and materials, which means we may change the specification of a product or range from time to time, but we will not make any significant changes without your agreement

Western Red Cedar Cladding
The external walls, roof, windows and doors are all made from premium clear grade Western Red Cedar (Thuja Plicata). The beautiful and versatile Cedar produces its own natural oils and preservatives making it a durable and rot-resistant species of timber, perfect for a garden summerhouse.
Just like the Malvern Victorian Greenhouse, the Cedar Collection Victorian Greenhouse features a painted finish as standard and you can choose from 13 different colours!
Toughened Safety Glass
Full length, 3mm toughened safety glass is supplied as standard for strength and safety.
12 Month Guarantee
All buildings are fully guaranteed to be free from defects and faulty installation for a period of 12 months.

Staging and shelving on one side of the greenhouse are provided as an optional extra for the Malvern Victorian.
This is high quality cedar slatted staging which is fixed in place using cantilever brackets, thus freeing up floor space as there is no need for ugly and in-the-way staging legs.
Additional staging for the other side of the greenhouse and the gable end is also available as an option.
Good ventilation is one of the keys to successful greenhouse gardening and the Malvern Victorian is not short on that score. The number of side vents we provide depends on the length of the building; they allow air to circulate around the plants on your staging helping prevent mildew and keeping your plants healthy. Note the brass window furniture, visible in this picture.
The gutters and downpipes provide a dual role. The obvious one is that they can be used in conjunction with a water barrel to save that precious rainwater. The less obvious function is to prevent the rainwater from the roof running down the sides of the greenhouse and causing unnecessary weathering.
Good ventilation is so important and the Malvern Victorian is well supplied with roof ventilation. These roof vents are fitted with automatic openers which open as the temperature inside your greenhouse rises to prevent overheating ... and saves you the trouble of adjusting the roof windows yourself !
The number of roof vents provided depends on the length of building you choose.
A cedar greenhouse will be as good as the plinth it sits on and in the case of the Malvern Victorian you would struggle to find a better option. A substantial cedar section ( which already has a 10year guarantee ) is used which is then pressure treated with additional preservatives to extend its life much further still. Malvern choose cedar rather than concrete blocks for several reasons: It forms a continuous edge which means that it braces the full length of the building, prevents dipping where concrete blocks could pull the building out of shape, and provides a sturdy fixing point for the side panels. It is also less prone to draughts and in particular remains much warmer than concrete blocks which transmit the cold in the winter.
The cedar panels above the base are preservative treated for good looks and long life.
