The Elite Kensington lean-to greenhouse is a sturdy, functional lean to greenhouse that can be dressed to provide an attractive addition to your home if presented with coloured frames and toughened glass.
Please note that greenhouses are not guaranteed to be watertight and can not be seen as a substitute for a fully sealed conservatory. If you install a lean to greenhouse over an entrance to your home it MUST be glazed with toughened safety glass.
The Kensington 6 lean-to has a ridge height of 7ft 11in (2.4m) excluding base plinth.
A separate aluminium plinth base is 5in high (125mm) and needs to be added to the heights above if chosen. As the Kensington is fitted with roof vent(s) it should be noted that, where a building is being fitted tight under a soffit overhang, the roof vents may be restricted from opening.
Vents fitted as standard:
6ft 5in - 1 roof vent
8ft 5in - 1 roof vents
10ft 5in - 1 roof vents
12ft 6in - 1roof vents
14ft 6in - 2 roof vents
16ft 6in - 2 roof vents
18ft 6in - 3 roof vents
20ft 6in - 3 roof vents
This is a 12ft x 6ft ( 3.81 x 1.91m )version of the Kensington Lean to which is installed at our Preston display centre ( April 2012 ).
It features a number of optional features such as full length toughened safety glass, double front doors, green paint finish, 2 roof vents ( one is standard ), louvre window, 5" base plinth and 6ft of staging.
It's available in a range of lengths up to 20ft and can be made even longer to special order although it's a good idea to use at least one partition in the longer lengths for strength and rigidity.
This is probably not the best example of a Kensington 6ft wide lean-to to feature here as the model in the picture isn't a size we sell very often ! More normally we supply Kensingtons which are between 8ft and 12ft in length.
The picture illustrates a number of features which you might not otherwise see ... a central partition which allows for keeping one part of the greenhouse at a different temperature to the other, and a front sliding door rather than an end door.
Shown here in green, it is also available in a choice of other colour finishes as well as the basic mill finish aluminium.
Glass choices include toughened safety glass ( our recommendation ), horticultural glass or twin-wall polycarbonate.
This base plinth is provided to add strength at ground level and to make installation of the greenhouse easier. It replaces the need to lay foundations and a brick plinth in most situations.
If you choose a coloured framed greenhouse we can provide the base in the appropriate colour to match the framework.
When measuring available height for your lean-to greenhouse please don't forget to allow for the 5" base plinth if purchased. Alternatively you can install the greenhouse on a course of bricks.

5 slat, 19in wide staging in mill finish
An essential part of any greenhouse is the staging which provides working surfaces as well as storage.
Our aluminium staging won't rot, twist or rust !
Supported by cantilever braces there are no legs to get in the way or make it difficult to sweep the greenhouse out. The staging height can generally be adjusted when fitting to suit you

Delivery to mainland England and Wales is included in all of our Elite greenhouse prices. It's also included in selected areas of Scotland but you need to check with our staff as we occasionally have to make extra arrangements for areas above the central belt which may cost a little extra. On delivery the greenhouse and staging are contained in the larger cardboard boxes, the accessory items are grouped together and the glass needs a clear length of wall to lean against, preferably in a garage or outbuilding. In this instance a fairly small greenhouse delivery is safely stacked against a sheltered garden wall. Nothing in the boxes will take any harm if it gets wet during storage, after all, the greenhouse is intended to stand outside in all weather. You will be advised of the delivery date so you can ensure that the delivery driver can gain access to unload the boxes and glass.
Should you choose to install your greenhouse yourself this is what you will find when you unpack the boxes ! The components here are from our smallest greenhouse ( 4ft x 4ft ) but the principle is the same with all sizes. Aluminium components are carefully wrapped and labelled to tell you which section they belong to. All you need to do is follow the instructions on preparing them and assembling them which are also provided. ( Orange booklet in this picture ). All clips, nuts and bolts and rubber glazing beads are provided in the pack too. Glass is delivered at the same time as the greenhouse and stacked where you request.
If you prefer to have your greenhouse installed then please talk to a member of our staff who will be happy to explain the various fitting options available to you.
A five blade louvre window is included with every Kensington as standard, assuring that you can provide low level ventilation to remove stale air from the bottom of your greenhouse when used in conjunction with the roof vents. Toughened safety glass is an essential feature of these louvres. Shown here in green, the louvre can be colour matched to the greenhouse.
Shown here too is the optional automatic louvre opener which uses a hydraulic cylinder to open the blades as the temperature inside rises.
An optional feature, this capping slots over the framework. It provides a draught excluding seal along the edges of the glass, retains the glass securely, and looks attractive and streamlined.
Pictured in olive, the capping is available in green, black, graphite, brown, terracotta, stone, berry or white too.
Instead of having your greenhouse 'glass to ground', you now have the option of adding aluminium Hybrid Panels giving a half boarded greenhouse.
These panels are incredibly strong and almost unbreakable on impact. Impacts from stones or balls will simply bounce off. They are lawnmower and strimmer friendly, plus you can hide any unsightly grow bags.
Available in green, black, graphite, brown, terracotta, white, olive, berry or stone. Compatible with bar capping.
