The latest addition to the Malvern Studio range is the Malvern Studio Barn. Taking its design from the Malvern Studio Pavilion, the Studio Barn is a rustic garden room, featuring rough sawn barnstyle cladding for that rural look. The Studio Barn features a fixed single glazed window either side of the double doors and one window with a top opening vent in each end. The Studio Barn is ideal to use as a gym, hobby room or a place to relax and entertain family and friends.
Our great range of optional extras gives you the ability to tailor your Studio Barn to your own style. By adding either the patterned MDF or, tongue and groove lining and insulation, your Studio can be used all year round. You can also choose to have your building painted with one of the attractive colour paint finishes. These not only blend well in any garden but also make your building completely maintenance-free. You can upgrade the roof of your building with the popular cedar slatted or cedar shingle roof - a beautiful finishing touch to your Studio Barn that will draw the eye and not just be a practical extension of your home, but a focal point of your garden!
Why Choose a Malvern Studio Barn Garden Room?
23mm Barnstyle Cladding The 23mm Barnstyle pressure treated cladding, has a long-lasting treatment forced deep inside the timber giving the timber an attractive green hue which complements gardens well and is perfect for a garden summer room.
Double Glazed Windows and Doors
The Malvern Studio Barn features one fixed full-length, double glazed window either side of the double doors. There is one full length window, with a top opening vent either end of the building. This maximises the amount of light entering your building - perfect for an art studio!

Studio Barn optional T&G internal lining
The optional tongued and grooved pine lining inside the Studio Barn is carefully fitted to provide a pleasant working environment. Because the walls and roof are insulated when the building is lined, the Studio Barn will become suitable for all year round use.
We recommend heating the Studio Barn with electric thermostatically controlled convector heaters. You can set these to maintain a minimum temperature when you aren't using the building so that paper and equipment remain at the appropriate temperature.
The internal T&G lining is shown here on the Arley which has half length windows rather than the full length ones fitted to the Studio.
Studio Barn optional MDF lining
Choose the optional MDF panels, sprayed with a honeydew paint finish, and you choose a hard-wearing and attractive finish for the inside of your Arley or Studio Garden Office. Pictured here on the Arley (which has half length windows rather than the full length windows featured on Studio models). The MDF lining helps create a light and airy feel to this working environment.
When you choose either the MDF lining, or the T&G lining pictured elsewhere in this gallery, the building is insulated too with a uFoil insulation in the walls and roof.
Barnstyle 23mm pressure treated construction
Pressure treatment is literally that as it sounds! All components of the building are placed in a large pressurised cylinder which forces the preservative deep into the timber. The formulation of the preservative gives the pressure treated Studio Barn their green/yellow hue which complements so many gardens. The Barnstyle cladding is of heavy duty 23mm timber that locks together to create a smooth finish on the interior. Good looks and an extended lifetime are the main benefits of choosing pressure treated construction.
Studio Laminate Floors
We are able to offer a selection of attractive laminate floors for our Studio range which, if you choose to have our bespoke fitting teams to install your building, will be fitted at the same time.
Studio Vents
Two opening end windows are provided with each Studio, additional windows and vents are also available if required.
Integral shed conversions for Arley and Studio
Our double glazed Arley and Studio ranges of Garden Offices, whether Apex, Pent or Pavilion style, can all be fitted with an optional integral shed conversion.
In this picture of a 14ft x 8ft Arley Pavilion the shed section (4ft wide in this case) is fitted within the LH side. Pent versions would also have the shed conversion to one side or the other whereas Apex versions would have a rear compartment as a shed section if specified.
Please note that the shed section is not lined or double glazed and comes with a joinery made single glazed shed window and a solid, framed and braced shed door.
In this picture of a 14ft x 8ft Arley Pavilion other options are the paint finish, internal MDF lining, bitumen felt roof tiles, and laminate floor.
Please note that the amount of the building converted to shed use is up to you but is normally 4ft, 6ft or 8ft depending on the overall length of the building. The shed area is not an extension added to your building, it is part of the original dimensions.
Bitumen Felt Tiles
The picture shows the optional bitumen felt tiles. These are available in three colours: black, green or red (pictured). They are very hard wearing and provide an attractive alternative to the standard bituminous felt roof.
Cedar Slatted Overlap Roof
This picture shows the cedar slatted overlap roof finish available for the Studio Barn.
Laid over an inner felted roof this gives double protection to the building and is an attractive addition which will weather over the years to a silver grey colour.
Shown here on our Stanford shed range, the principle is exactly the same for the Studio.
Pressure Treated Slatted Overlap Roof
The Studio roof can have pressure treated slats for an extra touch of style at an additional cost. These are laid over a felted inner roof which ensures that it is double weatherproofed!
Cedar slatted roofs are available too. Other options include felt tiles or cedar shingles.
Shown here on our Stanford shed range, the principle is exactly the same on the Studio range.
Laminate floor choices
Each season we take a close look at the range of laminate floors available with our garden offices to ensure they complement the external paint finishes. Here we have 'Hickory Berkeley' for the floor with the external 'Graphite' paint finish.
