Cottage Shed 10ft x 8ft

This Cottage Shed was specified to match the black barn cladding on the adjacent building. The white windows provide a superb contrast.

Not particularly obvious is the extra window in the left hand gable end making four opening windows on this particular building.

Cottage Shed 8ft x 6ft

New for 2010, the Cottage shed is a high quality building attractively finished in a choice of 12 countryside colours.

The external weatherboarding is 23mm pressure treated feather edged shiplap as illustrated here or cedarwood.

The door is sturdily ledged and braced and has a 3 lever mortice lock for security. It is hung with three heavy duty galvanised hinges.

Three windows are included in the price and you can choose to have them fixed or opening, 2 panes wide or three panes wide. All contain toughened safety glass.

Roof shingles are pressure treated cedar and will last for many years.

This picture illustrates the double door option with the Cottage shed. You'll notice that the building has an extra fixed window too ... just to the right of the doors.

The Cottage shed floor has pressure treated heavy duty t&g boarding and floor joists and is best installed on a slabbed or concrete foundation. The pressure treated timber boasts an extended lifetime and ensures many years of trouble free use.

Cottage Shed 10ft x 8ft

This is a typical example of a standard Cottage shed. It's finished in Malvern Green, one of the 12 available countryside colours. It has a pressure treated cedar shingle roof, three windows and a single door ( doors and windows can be positioned as required ).

This one is constructed with the barn style cladding but cedar cladding is also available.

The double central doors shown here have a small fixed window on each side ( better not to have them opening or the doors could damage them when swinging out ).

There's a full size opening window at the left hand end. You can choose the window and door positions depending on the location of the Cottage shed in your garden.

The Cottage shed can be lined with tongued and grooved pine and insulated for a finishing touch.

It really makes an impact wherever it is installed.

Cottage Shed 12ft x 8ft

This is a standard 12ft x 8ft Cottage shed finished in Moss Green. By 'standard' I mean that what you see in the picture is included in the price ( single door, three windows, roof shingles, paint finish and installation ). But no two Cottage sheds are really alike as they are built to our customers' individual requirements.

Cottage Shed in Cedar 10ft x 6ft

This Cottage shed has the door fitted in the end and has windows all along one side, two of which open.

Most of the photos above show the barnstyle cladding so this is a useful picture to have illustrating cedar cladding. Cedar is well known for its long life and good looks and, like the barnstyle versions, it can be painted in one of 12 fabulous countryside colours.

Barnstyle 23mm pressure treated cladding

The Cottage shed has pressure treated barnstyle cladding which is then finished with a choice of 12 countryside colours.

Pressure treatment is literally that : all components of the building are placed in a large pressurised cylinder which forces the preservative deep into the timber. The barnstyle cladding is of heavy duty 23mm timber that locks together to create a smooth finish on the interior.

Good looks and an extended lifetime are the main benefits of choosing pressure treated cladding.

The Cottage shed casement stays and door handles are of high quality and have an attractive chrome finish.

Cottage Shed cedar shingles

Canadian Cedar roof shingles are hard wearing and won't rot... just to give them a head start we pressure treat them too to ensure they retain their good looks and durability.

All Cottage sheds are fitted with cedar shingles as a standard feature.

Cottage Shed floor and walls

The Cottage shed has a heavy duty pressure treated floor with pressure treated floor joists. This guarantees a long life with a minimum amount of maintenance providing you construct a sturdy level foundation of slabs or concrete for the building.

The walls in the picture are insulated, then lined with tongued and grooved pine, an optional feature of the Cottage shed.

The Cottage shed door is ledged, braced and framed to ensure it stays square and secure.

Cottage Shed Insulation and t&g lining

You can choose to have your Cottage Shed insulated and then lined with tongued and grooved pine ( at an additional cost ) as a finishing touch. If you are hoping to make it a hobby room rather than a conventional shed this is a great way to add an extra dimension and help safeguard the contents.

Also in the picture you can see the sturdy roof truss which is used on larger sizes of the Cottage shed.

The Cottage shed contains 3 windows as standard. These can be either opening or fixed, two panes wide or three panes wide.

This illustrates the optional double doors for the Cottage Shed. These doors can be fiited in the sides or in the gable end ( The 6ft wide models won't accomodate a double door in the gable)

Cottage sheds contain three joinery made, Georgian style windows with toughened safety glass. As standard these are three panes wide by two panes deep but the sizes can be changed if so required.

Pictured here in white, the windows are generally painted the same colour as the main body of the shed.
