The Malvern Playden is the smallest playhouse in the range and is best suited to young children. It has all of the safety features incorporated in the larger models including ledged doors with piano style hinges which leave a gap when shut to prevent trapped fingers. The Malvern Playden is sturdily constructed with 33mm x 33mm Deal framework. 12mm tongued and grooved cladding is used in the walls and roof while the floor is also solid timber rather than chipboard.
Safety features included on all Malvern Playhouses:
This is the smallest of our playhouses but still has all the safety features you should expect in a child's playhouse. Two longline windows glazed with acrylic plastic provide plenty of light and enable you to keep an eye on the kids while they are playing.
In common with the other playhouses in our range, the Playden is available with red, green, yellow, blue, pink, or plain highlights.
Each Playden can be professionally installed by Malvern's own teams of skilled fitters on the same day as delivery is made ( if the installation option is chosen )
To add a bit of a zing to your choice from our play range, whether it be the Lodge, Playhouse, Playden or Superden, you can specify coloured highlights from our range of 5 hard wearing colours.
The Lodge and Superden will be supplied with the verandah railings painted in colour too ... an innovation for 2016.
Safety inspectors insisted that Malvern playhouse doors were fitted with magnetic catches so that all a child has to do to get out is push rather than turn a handle or knob. We took their advice as you would expect! The door has a neat circular handle on the outside which is easy for small children to grasp.
The 43mm x 33mm framework used in the Malvern playhouse range is sanded to a smooth finish to prevent splinters. Shown here where the sides meet the roof, you'll see that the roof is made from real timber rather than chipboard or pressed fibre board. This has important benefits if damp somehow gets into the roof at a later date since real timber won't swell and disintegrate.
Our playhouses are constructed with Deal ( Pine ) tongued and grooved cladding. The surface of this is planed smooth and each board fits neatly into the next. Before the building leaves the factory each panel is given a wash of a quality wood preservative which protects it against rot and insect attack. The process allows the preservative to get between the boards and into the end grain of the timber ensuring that all surfaces are coated.
The bargeboards on the Malvern playhouse range are neatly rounded for safety. The windows are glazed with acrylic plastic. Pictured here on The Lodge, the principle is exactly the same with the Playden.
You may think this rather elementary but compare our buildings with other manufacturers' buildings and you'll see how much better thought out they are.

All of our children’s playhouses will be delivered by our own expert team of fitters. We take pride in making sure that your building will arrive in perfect condition. As with all of our garden buildings, we like to provide our customers with a suitable delivery time. We always give good notice of our arrival date, allowing you to be sure it is the right time for you. We always appreciate any helpful information regarding access to your pre-prepared base area and any details you may need to share with us about reaching you - so that the delivery process can run as smoothly as possible.
Our Playhouses all come with the option of installation. If you are thinking about having your playhouse installed by our skilled team of fitters, please be aware that you will need to have a good, strong, level base, pre-prepared prior to your delivery date. We would normally recommend a base constructed from either slabs, concrete or heavy duty decking. We will always confirm these details with you at point of order. These measures ensure that your playhouse will be both delivered and installed without any inconvenience. Alternatively if you choose to install the building yourself, we will provide a complete set of easy-to-follow instructions and fittings.
Our delivery times can vary from season to season, but typically you should expect to receive your building around 3-4 weeks from when you place your order. All of our buildings are made to order, so during the busy spring to summer seasons this may increase to 6-10 weeks dependant on the building that you have purchased. Please feel free to contact us on 0800 999 0123 to check our current delivery times.
