Robinsons Lean to 10'8 x 5'4

This is the 10'8 long version of the Robinsons Lean to pictured here at one of our display centres. Look carefully and you will see that it is set up with timber slatted staging and top shelf. It has a louvre window fitted too to give good low level ventilation. Features such as toughened safety glass, low threshold entry, door lock, automatic roof ventilation and gutters and downpipes are standard with all lean tos.

Robinsons Dwarf Wall Lean to 8'8 x 5'4

This is a very neat installation, matched carefully into the house by using complementary blockwork to create the wall. The walls and foundations need to be built to precise sizes which will be given to you at the time of order. The cost of these is not included with the building ! This Robinsons Lean-to is white and has Robinsons white painted aluminium staging and top shelving. Note that the door threshold is still at ground level.

Robinsons Lean to 10'8 x 5'4

This installation is on a freestanding wall set in the garden. Take good advice from a reputable builder before undertaking this kind of work since the wall must be able to stand safely on its own without expecting the greenhouse to support it !

This Robinsons Lean to is in white finish.

At the time of order you need to specify which end the door is to be installed.

Robinsons Low Height Lean to 12'9 x 6'5

This is the lower height version of the Robinsons lean-to. The extra width provides additional growing space and the height, below 8ft at the ridge, makes it suitable for locations where other buildings are just too tall !

This building is pictured in green but is also supplied in plain mill finish aluminium or in white.

All Robinsons greenhouses have toughened safety glass as standard. With Lean-tos, this is a statutory requirement if there is an access point into your property via the lean to.

Robinsons Low Height Lean to 20'9 x 6'5

This is the low height version of the Robinsons Lean to which makes it suitable to fit below the eaves on many single story buildings. This particular length has been made up by adding extension modules to the standard building.

The additional choices made here are timber slatted Robinsons staging and shelving, and 5 six blade louvre windows. The building is available in white, green or plain aluminium.

Toughened Safety Glass

All Robinsons Greenhouses are fitted with 4mm toughened safety glass which complies with BS6206 Class A. This is 4 times stronger than standard glass of the same thickness.

In the unlikely event of breakage, it shatters into small pieces, much as car windscreens used to, thus minimising any risks.

The glass is secured in place with Robinsons' unique bar capping system.

Bar Capping and eaves drainage

This picture illustrates the detail of the Robinsons glazing system which is strong, thermally efficient and neat. Each pane of glass is held in place by full length 'bar capping' which reduces draughts and removes the need for unsightly clips. The bars are screwed in place and a final cap is applied to hide the screw heads and provide an attractive, easy maintenance finish.

Also in the picture you will see the drainage holes which are necessary to remove condensation from the internal eaves. This is a problem which most greenhouses don't cater for ... condensation runs down the inside face of the glass and gathers in the eaves. Robinsons cure this with strategically placed drain holes as pictured.

Lean-to louvre window

A 6 blade louvre window glazed with toughened glass is a popular choice with Robinsons' customers.

We recommend fitting it at a low level to draw air up through the greenhouse roof vents thus preventing stale air causing mildew.

Robinsons Lean-to roof vent

The number of roof vents fitted as standard in a Robinsons lean to varies according to its length and is shown in the current pricelist. You can choose to add extra roof vents should you feel it necessary but please remember they can't fit in adjacent panels in the roof.

Every Robinsons roof vent is supplied with an automatic opener :Imagine getting up on a hot summer morning to find everything in your greenhouse has keeled over from the heat ... this is what an automatic opener will help prevent.

As the temperature rises the roof vent will open to ventilate the greenhouse and protect your valuable plants.

Timber slatted staging 25" wide and timber slatted top shelf

Robinsons Greenhouses have a choice of timber or aluminium slatted staging. If aluminium staging is chosen the cantilever brackets and slats can be finished in white or green if coloured options are chosen. Pictured here fitted to a lean-to greenhouse you will see 7 slat wide (25") timber staging and 3 slat wide high level shelving. This is hard wearing, functional staging which needs very little maintenance and will fit in all Robinsons models except the Renaissance.

Aluminium slatted staging 25" wide and slatted top shelf

Robinsons Greenhouses have a choice of timber or aluminium slatted staging. The aluminium staging can be finished in plain mill finish or white or green as pictured here. This is the green finish 7 slat wide (25") aluminium staging and 3 slat wide high level shelving. This is easy to clean, sturdy staging which will fit in all Robinsons models except the Renaissance.

Aluminium slatted staging 37" wide and slatted top shelf

This 10 slat wide aluminium staging is available in plain mill finish as pictured or in white or green. It measures 37" (940mm) in depth. The height is adjustable when first installed to a comfortable working level. Also pictured is the 3 slat wide high level shelving.

The depth of the staging makes this unsuitable for some smaller models in the Robinsons range as it can project into the doorway. Please seek advice from our sales staff about its suitability for your greenhouse project.

Robinsons Fix Down Brackets

These brackets are supplied as a standard component to enable you to fix your greenhouse to the base. They are generally rawlplugged and screwed in place once the assembly of the greenhouse is completed either by you or your nominated greenhouse fitter.

Lean to door threshold

OK. So it isn't the most exciting photo but if you have difficulty with mobility it's nice to be able to walk straight into this greenhouse without a step to negotiate !

Robinsons Lean-to ridge bar

The Ridge Bar on the Robinsons Lean-tos is nearly six inches from top to bottom. You need to know this for two reasons : firstly because it is indicative of the overall strength of the Robinsons greenhouse range. Secondly because if you are fitting the building over a door or window you need to allow clearance for that door or window to open ! If in doubt ask one of our members of staff for assistance with the exact dimensions.

Robinsons gutters and downpipes

Every Robinsons greenhouse is supplied with an integral gutter and a downpipe as standard.

Robinsons Diagonal Bracing

All Robinsons rectangular greenhouses are supplied with diagonal bracing for two reasons. Firstly they add considerable strength to the greenhouse and secondly because they ensure the greenhouse remains square and doesn't move out of shape in windy conditions.
