Malvern Suntop Greenhouse
The Malvern Suntop greenhouse is attractive and yet still designed to be highly functional, you have a choice of pressure treated deal or cedar. All Suntop greenhouses are supplied with toughened safety glass throughout as standard.
Cedar is well known for it's natural resistance to rot and its longevity it is factory treated prior to delivery but will still benefit from an occasional re-treatment to keep it looking good.
Pressure treatment is another means of extending the natural life of the timber and our Malvern Suntop greenhouses constructed with this timber are proving very popular as they are less costly than the cedar models and have an attractive appearance.
Please take a look at our photo gallery towards the bottom of this page. This will give you a selection of Suntop pictures and some information on construction details.
N.B. The Suntop must have a slabbed/level area to ensure that doors and windows operate correctly.

Malvern Suntop Greenhouse 6ft x 6ft
The 6ft x 6ft Suntop is supplied either in pressure treated pine or as pictured here with cedar cladding. Cedarwood is exceptionally durable and long lasting and has traditionally been the timber of choice for greenhouses.
The Suntop is an attractive focal point and also a practical space for growing particularly if the optional integral staging is purchased. This utilises the space to best advantage.
Toughened safety glass is fitted in all Suntop greenhouses for safety and security.
Malvern Suntop Greenhouse 6ft x 6ft
This 6ft x 6ft Suntop demonstrates the full length glass option which is available on the two smaller sizes. The other principal difference here is the use of pressure treated pine in the construction ...
Pressure treatment is literally that : all components of the building are placed in a large pressurised cylinder which forces the preservative deep into the timber. The formulation of the preservative gives the pressure treated Suntops their green / yellow hue which complements so many gardens.
Good looks and an extended lifetime are the main benefits of choosing pressure treated timber.
Malvern Suntop Greenhouse 8ft5in x 6ft
The middle size in the Suntop range from the Malvern Collection ... 8'5" x 6'0".
Pictured here in cedar construction with optional staging and shelving.
This size is also available with full length glass or constructed with pressure treated timber.
Toughened safety glass is fitted in all Suntop greenhouses for safety and security.
Malvern Suntop Greenhouse 8ft5in x 6ft
This 8ft5in x 6ft Suntop has been finished in one of our stunning paint finishes, new for 2010. Fitted with attractive staging and shelving, also painted, this is a stunning focal point for the garden. For details and prices of paint finish options you will need to contact one of our branches.
Shown with the full length glass format, this could also be constructed with the standard boarded base.
Malvern Suntop Greenhouse 8ft5in x 8ft5in
This is the largest of the three Suntop sizes. Two roof vents with automatic openers are fitted on this model and also the 8ft5in x 6ft model.
Our fitting service is available with these buildings ... the installers bring the greenhouse and erect it on the same day unlike other companies who may leave your building lying on the drive or lawn for a lengthy period prior to assembly.
Optional staging and shelving is fitted in this cedar Suntop Greenhouse.
Base detail
The Suntop is designed to fit onto a well constructed level base of slabs or concrete. We generally recommend slabs as they provide better drainage.
The picture illustrates the pressure treated base rail that is a feature of the Suntop. This will give untroubled use for many, many years.
Also in the picture you can see the cantilever arms which support the staging ... this provides additional storage space under the worksurfaces as there are no awkward staging legs to avoid.
Roof vents and autovents
Two roof vents with automatic openers are fitted on the 8ft5in x 8ft5in Suntop and also on the 8ft5in x 6ft model. The 6ft x 6ft Suntop relies on its side vents to provide adequate ventilation.
Imagine getting up on a hot summer morning to find everything in your greenhouse has keeled over from the heat ... this is what an automatic opener will help prevent.
As the temperature rises the roof vents will open to ventilate the greenhouse and protect your valuable plants.
Staging and top shelf 6 x 6 model
Heavy duty cedar or pressure treated slatted staging is an option with our Malvern Suntop Greenhouses. Most customers buy it because they can see how well constructed it is and how it optimises the space within the greenhouse.
The top shelf is equally useful in providing additional storage and growing space.
Staging and top shelf 8 x 8 model
The cedar slats used on our Suntop staging are carefully rounded on the edges and mounted on sturdy treated pine framing. The chrome cantilever brackets allow better use of the space beneath the staging and shelving.
