Cottage greenhouses are constructed from cedar which has a superb reputation for durability.

Cottage Greenhouse 6ft x 4ft 6in

This is the 6ft x 4ft6in. Cottage Greenhouse in Cloverleaf finish although the picture makes it look a deeper blue than in reality! This example has chrome fittings rather than brass, an option you need to choose at the time of order for obvious reasons.

Cottage Greenhouse 8ft x 11ft

This is an example of the 8ft wide Cottage Greenhouse; spacious, sturdy and very striking. Pictured in Moss Green, this example has the door opening outwards. There are a number of sizes to choose from and partitions can be fitted to the larger sizes to create a two temperature environment.

Automatic Roof Vent Openers

All Cottage Greenhouses have two automatic roof vents fitted as standard. Automatic vent openers come in many shapes and sizes but this is a good,sturdy and well proven opener. Imagine getting up on a hot summer morning to find everything in your greenhouse has keeled over from the heat ... this is what an automatic opener will help prevent. As the temperature rises the roof vents will open to ventilate the greenhouse and protect your valuable plants.

Cantilevered Staging

The heavy duty cedar staging in your Cottage Greenhouse will be painted to match or can be left as natural cedar. Cantilever brackets support the staging thus removing unsightly legs and making the space beneath the staging easy to utilise and keep clean.

Top shelf

A standard feature with Cottage Greenhouses, the top shelf is well supported on cantilever brackets. We generally paint the sturdy cedar slats to match the rest of the greenhouse but you can specify natural cedar ( treated with a spirit based preservative ) instead should you prefer.

Cedar Base Panels

The base panels are an integral part of the Cottage Greenhouse. They are designed to help keep the greenhouse warm and to hide any unsightly odds and ends you might leave in the greenhouse ! ( As a feature in the garden that is often a consideration ! ) Where the greenhouse is in contact with the ground we use pressure treated timber which has an extended lifetime and is also sprayed to match.

Pressure treated base rail

Pressure treated timber is well known for its long life and structural properties which is why we use it in the base rail and ridge bars of our Cottage Greenhouses. Pressure treatment is literally that : the components are placed in a large pressurised cylinder which forces the preservative deep into the timber.

Guttering and downpipes

All that precious rainwater going to waste ? All Cottage Greenhouses are now supplied with guttering and downpipes as a standard feature. You will need to provide adequate storage vessels ...plastic barrels or galvanised tanks for instance.

Brass handles and keep

Brass handles and a proper mortice lock are fitted to the Cottage Greenhouse which match the brass hinges also supplied.

From 2010 we also provide a chrome fittings pack which you can choose in preference to brass.
