Few would argue that the Victorians knew a thing or two about elegance. And the new Cedar greenhouse from Alton is a celebration of classic Victorian style. The high, 45° roof pitch and the tall narrow panes are unmistakably of an era when designers and architects became household names.
True to Victorian tradition, Alton don't let impeccable design compromise functionality. The extra height in conjunction with good ventilation means more air is circulating around the greenhouse, a must for healthy plants and more produce. This greenhouse is available in 3 different widths - 6ft 5in, 7ft 7n and 10ft and 7 different lengths, allowing you to find the perfect fit for your garden.
The Alton Victorian greenhouse is crafted using only the highest quality Western Red Cedar from sustainable sources. The Cedar is then treated with either a natural golden honey preservative, or coated in a special white or green paint to look superb in any garden setting.
Cedar contributes to thermal efficiency, helping to produce a greenhouse that stays warm in winter and cool in summer. With an inherent resistance to rot combined with a pleasant aroma that repels many insects, the Alton Victorian Cedar greenhouse is the ideal place to grow your vegetables and fruit.

Each year we sell off all our showmodels and replace them with the latest versions of the Alton Greenhouse range with up to date specifications so you can be sure that we are always clean, tidy and up to date. We put our display models up for sale on July 1st each year for installation during the winter so if you want to be considered as a potential customer for one of these please let us know.
At our GBC display sites we ensure that our Alton Greenhouses are easily accessible along level pathways so less able customers are able to view the products without difficulty.
So its easy to come and see Alton Greenhouses at selected GBC group display centres, but that doesn't explain why we sell as many as we do !
There are several reasons : we always have an eye for price and it would be almost impossible to find anyone offering a better combination of price, service and display in the UK.
Just as important, our staff are fully trained to explain the benefits of each Alton Greenhouse : they know the Alton Greenhouse range inside out and back to front ! Prices can vary from under £1000 to over £5000 so it's as well to deal with people who know what they are talking about !

The Alton Victorian is constructed in cedarwood which is extremely durable and long lasting.
We frequently have customers who are happy to tell us about the enjoyment they have had from their 30 year old Alton greenhouses. Hopefully the Victorian will command the same loyalty from discerning customers.

This Alton Victorian is 6ft 5in x 7ft 11in, one of the smaller models in the range. It features full length glass panels which are optional with any of the larger sizes too.

Alton Victorian... base detail
This illustrates the substantial concrete base kerbs which are an integral part of the Alton Victorian greenhouse. In the image they are laid onto regular 2ft square grey slabs but a firm, level base of gravel or concrete would be equally appropriate.
We don't recommend siting the kerbs directly onto soil as they will settle unevenly and pull the building out of shape.
The kerbs have been painted to complement the building.

Each roof vent is fitted with a Bayliss Mk7 automatic opener.
These autovents can be adjusted to open at varying temperatures, preventing your greenhouse from overheating.
