The Fort Premium California Pent is a modern, light and spacious garden building - a beautiful alternative to the more traditionally designed garden room. With glass-to-ground double glazed windows either side of the double glazed double doors, the Fort Premium California Pent maximizes the use of available light, making it the perfect garden room for relaxing with family and friends or working on hobbies and crafts or as a stunning pool house or gym.
The pent style roof allows light into your garden whilst adding a contemporary look and feel to any outdoor area.
As standard each California Pent has modern, brushed steel ironmongery, a five lever mortice lock for added security, 38kg bitumen felt roofing, rot-proof tanalised floor joists and a preservative treatment throughout.
The California Pent has a great range of optional extras which give you the ability to tailor your building to your own style.
Add patterned 9mm bead and butt MDF lining and insulation to your California garden room to ensure it can be used all year round - keeping you warmer through the winter months.
Choose to have your building painted with one of the many attractive colour paint finishes. It gives your building a long lasting protection whilst helping to blend naturally into any garden.
Choose from 8 styles of laminate floor. Add elegance and character to any garden room whilst ensuring the building has a high quality finish.
Upgrade your roof from standard felt to an EPDM rubber membrane (which is glued on). The EPDM gives a much neater appearance whilst extending the life of your building considerably.
The California Pent is a sturdy and stylishly constructed garden office that will give you many years of trouble free use. Glazed along the front and one section at each end, it's highly suitable as a studio or a double glazed summerhouse given the huge amount of natural light inside.
There is a choice of Deal (pine) or cedar external cladding. Pictured here is the Deal version which is finished with a high quality light oak stain.
Options shown in the picture are the internal mdf lining and the laminate floor.
Installation is available too using our manufacturer's own bespoke fitting teams.
The California and Oregon Garden Offices are available with a choice of external claddings : either Deal ( pine ) finished with a light oak preservative stain, or cedar.
Pictured here is the western red cedar, widely acknowledged to be the best choice due to cedar's inherent longevity. With its own natural oils it will outlast any other timber even without being looked after regularly. As you would expect, we still advise you to give it a coat of preservative periodically to keep it looking good and in top condition.

It's a popular choice to bring a little colour into the garden and we are able to offer a range of countryside colours in which your building can be pre-painted.
Shown here on the cedar cladding, the paint finish is hard wearing and applied evenly by spray. When choosing a paint finish we generally advise you to choose the cedar cladding since knots in the Deal cladding will 'shadow' through the paint in time. Cedar tends not to have knots in so does not exhibit this behaviour.
Whether you choose the California with its full length glazing or the Oregon as pictured with its half-length windows, you will be choosing a building that has toughened safety glass as standard. This type of glass shatters to small fragments if you break it... which isn't the easiest thing to do as its strength lies in the face of the glass rather than the ends (which are not exposed ).
All of the units are double glazed which, if you choose the internal mdf lining and insulation, makes the building perfect for all-year-round use with a minimum of heating.
For a truly all-year-round building you will need to line and insulate your new garden office. Our bead-and-butt mdf lining is painted in 'cotton' colour and hides the Alreflex 2L2FR insulation which is stapled to the internal face of the framing. Skirting boards and architraves are included.
We also have a range of attractive laminate floors as an option.
The California Pent style roof overhangs the front door giving shelter when entering and leaving the office. This also keeps the worst of the weather off the door and windows helping extend the life of the building accordingly.
The California Pent is less than 2.5metres in height and therefore does not contravene planning laws ( which require you to ask permission for buildings which are more than 2.5m in height within 2m of a boundary.)
All of our Fort Premium offices have toughened safety glass to EN 12150 Class 1.
This will shatter into small pieces ( like the old style car windscreen glass ) if it gets broken although that isn't an easy thing to do as it is so many times stronger than regular float glass. As it is double glazed it is highly unlikely that any impact will break both panes.
NB This picture also shows the friction hinges on the end windows and the insulating foam fill between the window frame and the building's external cladding.

We take pride in making sure that your building will arrive in perfect condition - that is why we use our own team of drivers and fitters. As with all of our garden buildings, we like to provide our customers with a suitable delivery time. We always give good notice of our arrival date allowing you to be sure it is the right time for you. We always appreciate any helpful information regarding access to your pre-prepared base area, plus any details you may need to share with us about reaching you - so that the delivery process can run as smoothly as possible.
Our Fort Premium Garden Offices all come with optional installation. If you are thinking about having your garden office installed by our skilled team of fitters, please be aware that you will need to have a good, strong, level base, pre-prepared prior to your delivery date. We would normally recommend a base constructed from either slabs, concrete or heavy duty decking. We will always confirm these details with you at point of order and we will provide you with base plans if needed. These measures ensure that no detail is left out - ensuring that your garden shed will be both delivered and installed without any inconvenience.
Our delivery times can vary from season to season, but typically, you should expect to receive your building around 3-4 weeks from when you order. All of our buildings are made to order, so during the busy spring to summer seasons, this may increase to 6-10 weeks dependant on the building that you have purchased. Please feel free to contact us on 0800 999 0123 to check our current delivery times.
